California - After one hundred miles of grueling desert terrain, tight technical rock sections and high speed valleys in California’s Lucerne Valley, current AMA Hare & Hound champ Destry Abbott rode his Kawasaki KX™ to victory at round four of the series.
Abbott had a nearly two-minute lead when he got lost about eight miles from the finish line, along with the second and third place riders. With his comfortable race lead gone, Abbott and his two competitors managed to find the course again and ended up in a flat-out drag race to the finish line. When the dust settled, Abbott took the overall win with seconds to spare, while teammate David Pearson finished in fifth.
With two rounds remaining in the series, Abbott’s win ties him with Russell Pearson for the points lead.
